The purpose of the competition

The competition aims to identify talented young film screenwriters and theatre screenwriters working in Georgia, to promote their talent in the local and international art societies.

The competition will be held in two directions:

1) Movie scripts;

2) Dramatic works.

Authorized contestant

Undergraduate and graduate students of universities accredited in Georgia, as well as school students, can participate in the competition.

All three competition areas are valid for participants aged 16-40. Such a restriction allows young artists to go through the first stages of development with the support and assistance of the Ray Foundation.

The application must consist of

Resume / CV;

Name of the contestant; last name; ID number; Address; Mobile Number; e-mail;

Education;

Experience in this field;

Creative achievements;

Artistic-creative practice;

Participation in festivals, and competitions (name, location, date);

Received awards, recognitions, and scholarships (if any);

The contestant is required to submit their works (no more than 3 works) in PDF format;

For the main stage of the competition, the contestants should send their works in WinRAR ZIP format to the e-mail awards@rayfoundations.com 

Please indicate the contest direction you want to participate in the "Subject" field: "Ray Screenplay Competition" or "Ray Competition for Drama Works".

Note: One contestant is allowed to participate simultaneously in the drama and literature competitions. In the field of drama-dramaturgy, priority will be given to visual-imaginative vision.

In the field of literature, genre and thematic restrictions do not apply.

Competition Awards

The best works will be selected within the competition and a maximum of 3 winners will be selected from them.

Stages of the competition

The competition will be held in two stages:

1. Initially, the commission reviews the submitted applications and selects the best contestants.

2. At the next (main) stage of the competition, the commission will reveal a maximum of three winners.

Deadlines

The winner of the competition will be revealed at the end of October 2022.
